Nigeria announces Discovery of 44 New Mineral Deposits Across the Country

President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday announced the discovery of 44 new mineral deposits in 800 locations across the country in addition to the over 50 billion barrels of oil reserves. He also disclosed that efforts were being made to generate power from coal in line with his administration transformation agenda. President Jonathan who stated this at a 50th Annual International Conference and Exhibitions of Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) in Benin City, the Edo state capital, said the implementation of road map for the development of solid mineral sector in 2012 has no doubt led to increased sustained flow of Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) in exploration and extraction of minerals- which include coal, gold, iron and ore. Nigerian Government Offers Automatic Employment to Families of the Deceased 20 Immigration Job seekers

The Federal Government has offered automatic employment to three members each of families of the dead victims of Saturday’s immigration recruitment tragedy. All applicants who were injured in the stampede are to get automatic employments too. A reliable source from the Presidency have just disclosed to PremiumReporters that President Johnathan has canceled the the Nigerian Immigration recruitment exercise that killed over 20 applicants at job screening centers across Nigeria. Already, the Nigeria Human Rights Commission, NHRC, has commenced investigations into the NIS recruitment tragedy where stampede in various venues across the country led to the death of the job seekers on Saturday.
