Man Accused Of Stealing N7M Rolex Wrist Watch

A 25-year-old man, John Suru, has been arraigned
before a Tinubu Magistrate’s court for allegedly
stealing a wrist watch valued at N7m.

The police said the golden Rolex wrist watch belonged
to one Mrs. Elsie Unuane.
The incident was said to have occurred at Chief
Collins Street, Lekki Phase 1 in Eti Osa Local
Government Area of Lagos State.

The charge read, “That you, John Suru, between
October 2013 and November 2013, at Block 85 Plot
40, Chief Collins Street, Lekki Phase 1 in Eti Osa LGA
within the Lagos Magisterial District, did steal one
Rose Gold Rolex wrist watch, valued N7m property of
one Mrs Elsie Unuane, and thereby committed an
offence contrary to and punishable under Section 285
of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.”

The defendant said he was not guilty of the offence
and asked to be tried at the magistrate’s Court.
His defence counsel asked for his bail in “most liberal
terms.”

The magistrate, Ms A.O Awogboro admitted him to
bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties each in like
sum.

The matter was adjourned till December 17, 2013.
