Nigerian Polytechnics Set To Suspend Striking

Incoming reports from the Federal Government reveals that the Ongoing strike action by the
Academic Staff Union Of Polytechnics
(ASUP) is nearing its end.

In a Statement by the Supervising
Minister Of education, Mr.Nyesom Wike, The Federal Government has
met about 80% of demands made by the Union, and hereby appeal to the Union to suspend the industrial
action.

Mr. Wike also revealed that the
Government would pay the N20.8
billion arrears owed polytechnic
Lecturers as soon as the procedure
for payment was concluded.
Having met over 80% of demands
made by the Union, The education
minister reveals that only the
release of the white-paper on the
implementation of their demands is
left, for the Strike to be suspended.
This is a bit of Good News to all
Nigerian polytechnic Students who
have been at home since the strike
commenced on 1st October!
