APC Presidential Aspirants To Pay N27 Million For Forms

The National Executive Committee of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Friday approved the electoral guidelines of the party, pegging the expression of interest and nomination forms for its presidential ticket at N27.5million. However, forms for other elective offices were categorised as sitting aspirants and are expected to pay more than fresh aspirants on the same office. For sitting governorship aspirants, they are to pay N10.5 million for nomination and expression of interest forms, while fresh aspirants are to pay N5.5 million for the same forms. For the National Assembly, the sitting senators would pay N5.3 million, while the fresh aspirants would pay N3.3 million. Also the members of the House of Representatives who might want to return will pay N3.2 million, while those aspiring freshly will pay N2.2 million. FTYD Adopts President Johnathan for 2015 Presidential Election

The Foundation for Transformation and Youth Development - (FTYD) in it's National Executive Council Meeting held yesterday in Porthacourt, the River State Capital, adopted President Goodluck Ebele Johnathan as it's flag bearer for the 2015 Presidential election. Briefing newsmen, The spokesperson of the body, Miss Thelma Uzondu said: "Yes, I will not join issues on that. There is no going back with our support for His Excellency. Perhaps the reward for good work is more work. After due consideration, we came to the conclusion that it was apt and apposite to consolidate our support for Mr. President's Transformation Agenda by endorsing his candidature for reelection in 2015". Bonga Northwest Deepwater Offshore Development: A Major Boom for Nigeria's Oil and Gas Industry

With the current boom being recorded from the very first well at the Bonga North West deep-water Offshore development, Nigeria’s crude oil production is expected to rise by 40,000 barrels per day. This translates to a crude earnings of N672 million accruable to the country on a daily basis. The landmark Deepwater project is operated by the Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited, (SNEPCo) in partnership with the TOTAL Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (TEPNG). Other multinationals in the Joint Venture Project include: the Esso Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited and the Nigerian Agip Exploration (NAE) under a Production Sharing Contract with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). RSUST Gets Total Upstream N55m e-Library Grant

In its efforts towards supporting education development, Total Exploration and Production has presented a N55m electronic library to the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt. The Deputy Managing Director, Deep Water District of Total Upstream Companies in Nigeria, Mr. Charles Ngoka, said the gesture was part of the company’s social responsibilities. Ngoka, who spoke before the handing over of the project to the management of RSUST, explained that the oil firm had deliberately fashioned out some initiatives aimed at giving back to the Nigerian society. The project financed by Total E&P Nigeria Limited, in partnership with Chevron, ESSO and Nexen, he said, would enhance the availability of research materials for students and lecturers in the university. Total Upstream to End Gas Flaring By 2015

French oil multinational Total, has given a firm assurance concerning its efforts to put an end to gas flare from its Major Production Facilities (MPF) in the Niger Delta region. The company said it has embarked on various gas gathering initiatives which it hoped would accelerate almost a zero flare of gas in those systems. Elizabeth Proust, the managing director and chief executive officer of Total upstream companies in Nigeria, who made this disclosure in an interview with Leadership said presently its Ofon field was the only major installation where gas flaring occurs but affirmed management’s decision to stop flaring there in January 2015. Total invests $10hb in Nigeria's Oil and Gas Sector

TOTAL Exploration and Production Nigeria Limited (TEPNG) has invested about $10 billion (N1.6 trillion) in the nation’s oil and gas sector in the last five years, even as it pledged further investment and completion of some complementing projects before the end of this year. The oil multinational, in some documents obtained by The Guardian, recently, stated that a number of projects such as the OB 129 project; the Field Logistic Base, the O.U.R and NOPL pipelines are at advanced stages of completion, with expectation that they would be commissioned by the end of 2014 and early 2015 respectively. The report said Total has contributed about 2.2 billion barrels to Nigeria’s oil production base since the last 47 years.
