Policeman sentenced to death by hanging for killing 20yr old man

Image
Justice has finally come the way of the family of slain Emmanuel Victor (pictured above), a 20 year old young man who was killed in front of his mother by a trigger happy Policeman, Mathew Egheghe, two years ago in Yenogoa, Bayelsa state. Victor was shot dead after he confronted a group of policemen who were trying to extort money from motorists as he was coming back from church. Angered by his effrontery to question their action, Policeman Egheghe moved close to Victor and shot him at close range. Narrating what happened, Victor's mother Grace, who witnessed the incident said: "They shot my son brutally. As he fell while they were shooting him, the tallest of them still continued shooting him on the ground". She said she was harassed and stopped from going close to her dying son even as he lay gasping for life in the pool of his own blood. Delivering his judgement on the case, Justice Lucky Boufili said that such a cruel act was only punishable by the maximum pena...

Image
Six years ago, Musa Ali (not his real name) was linked up with a rich businessman in Yola, who ‘initiated’ him into gay sex. Ali was told that being gay would make him bold and feared. Of course, he was also told that he would make a huge load of money. Now 36, Ali is somewhat filled with regrets and wishing it were possible to turn back the hands of the clock. Sitting in the serene evening of last Thursday in Bankin Kogi at the bank of River Benue in Yola after a Herculean arrangement to get him to talk, he shared his story with our correspondent. Ali revealed that the rich and the powerful, both in business and politics hit the hay with him. Excerpts… How did you become a gay? A woman my friend introduced to me lured me into it. The woman linked me up with some men in business and in politics. The first man I was introduced to told me that having anal sex would fetch me good fortune and I would be bold to challenge anybody no matter his social status. He said ...

A Nigerian Student Escaped Deportion For Killing A Cat In Canada

Image
An Ottawa judge has decided Bassey Okokon, 23, does not deserve to be locked up for throwing his roommate's kitten against a wall and leaving it, convulsing, to die. Okokon was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty earlier this month to an animal cruelty charge. Okokon admitted he did it because he was angry and annoyed with the tabby named Braveheart, which had been scratching the carpet and couch on Feb. 11, 2013. Defence lawyers had hoped even to spare Okokon a criminal record and asked for a conditional discharge. But Judge Peter Wright found the Crown's position more suitable, handing him a suspended sentence and 12 months of probation for the "very disagreeable, shameful offence." "Society has a very low tolerance for cruelty to animals," Wright said. Wright experienced this firsthand when a woman sought permission to present a petition, signed by 1,100 people, demanding the Nigerian student be kicked out of the country "for his heinous ...

23-Years Old Girl Claims Davido is the Father of Her Unborn Twins

Image
21 year old music superstar Davido is about to be a father to twin girls in a few months, if claims by 23 year old Sunshine Haye is to be believed. The UK-based beauty (she's from the Caribbean, half Jamaican) claims she hooked up with Davido during his UK tour in 2013. She is said to be about 4/5 months pregnant. (Sunshine, who is a hair model and video vixen, is pictured above...) After getting the scoop, I contacted Davido's camp and they denied any knowledge of her allegations. Well you see, this is not the first time popular socialites have claimed to hook up with the musician. In July 2013, a Kenyan socialite Stacey Brianar aka Pendo called a press conference claiming to have had an encounter with the star, the allegations later turned out to be false as Davido never met the star- struck party girl. So, is this now true? Sunshine's camp swear it is. And have promised to provide proof in due time. She's even gone on to decorate a nursery for the babies- th...

Man Receives 20 Lashes For Practicing Homosexuality in Bauchi

Image
A Nigerian man has received 20 lashes after an Islamic court in the northern city of Bauchi convicted him of homosexual offences. Under Islamic law, courts can punish homosexual acts by stoning to death. But the judge said he took into account that the Muslim man, Mubarak Ibrahim, 20, carried out the acts seven years ago, and had stopped the practice. In Nigeria, homosexual acts are illegal under both Islamic and secular law and restrictions have been tightened. Earlier this month, President Goodluck Jonathan signed into law a bill which bans same-sex marriages, gay groups and shows of same-sex public affection. The new legislation applies throughout Nigeria. Most states in the predominantly Muslim north of Nigeria have adopted Islamic law, known as Sharia, since the end of military rule in 1999. Along with Mr Ibrahim, 11 other Muslims and a Christian man were arrested last month accused by the authorities of being homosexuals. He was also ordered to pay a fine of about $30 ...

According to him, “it has now become rampant for unscrupulous Nigerians to desire travelling out of the country through dubious means. “In the course of their attempt to manipulate records and information, many reputable organisations, financial institutions and government parastatals’ records are falsified and tampered with.” Ogunsakin also said the network of cro...
